Is there a way to sign out of email on iphone?

So my understanding of signing into email on the iphone is under the settings button on the main menu, you have to add your email and password. Then you can sign into the email button if you go back to the main menu. When you go onto your email, there’s no sign out button. It seems as if you have to go back to the settings button on the main menu, then delete your account that had your email and password. Then if you wanna sign on your email again, you have to set up the account again with your email and password. Is there a sign out button on email or do you really have to delete your account on settings each time? also, why does it save your password on settings? I don’t want someone to steal my password, or if my phone is stolen, they can access my email. Is there a way to just store your email address but have to enter your password each time instead of having to do both each and every time you want to sign into your email?

it saves it bc u probly selected a button when it asks u if u would like to save it.
