My sister received an email to her hotmail account that said this:

God Bless, My name is Mrs. Annett Erynn

I am 59 years old and I was diagnosed for cancer

for about 2 years ago, i am a dying woman and i

have decided to donate the sum of $5.5 million dollars.)

to you for the good work of the lord.Contact my

lawyer with this email: Name: Peter J. Wallace. Email:

barrjj08@yahoo.de

Tell him that I have WILLED 5.5M to you by

quoting my personal reference number Qe/yr/088/51/wsa/ld

and I have also notified him that I am WILLING that

amount to you. Please use the funds well and always

extend the good work to others.I don't know you but

I have been directed to do this. Thanks and

God bless. Regards,

Is there any chance this is for real? She has never heard of Annett Erynn, and we live in the UK. Is it a scam? Would it be dangerous to do as the email says?

I get about two dozen of these a week in addition to the ones that say I've won some lottery somewhere in Europe.

The scam becomes clear when you are asked for up-front money to show your "good faith" or some other such explanation.
