My friend uses Yahoo as his internet email provider. Each time he creates a new email, when he creates the body first and then goes back to his address book, his email is minimized on the bottom task bar, he can clock the icon on the task bar and the email maximizes. Is there some type of Option on his email he needs to change? I told him to add the people from address book first and then create the body of the email. His internet provider is AT%26amp;T.
Also, when he open his email and decides to look at email number 5 first, no. 5 will open, but then when he closes it, the cursor goes automatically back to email no. 1. If he has 25 emails and decides to look at no. 20 first, after he views it and closes it, the cursor goes back up to email no. 1. Is this something you can help with?
Email Question?
Unfortunately, Yahoo! Mail doesn't offer IMAP access (they tried it for a short while in 2005, but shut it down. IMAP is hard on servers!) So, you can't use some of the better individual mail clients, unless you're willing to do POP3, which basically moves your messages down onto your client machine. That gives you a lot of flexibility with your message store on that one machine, but it's no help for people who use several machines, in different locations, and want their message store to remain on Internet mail servers.
If he's willing to go through setting up another IMAP mail service, he could pick a mail client of his liking, and use IMAP access at a number of services, which also provide Web mail for those times he's away from his own machines. Here's a guy doing that with Gmail: http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?s...
Although it sounds complicated, it's straightforward to set up, and infinitely customizable. Here's a list of free IMAP providers: http://www.emailaddresses.com/email_imap...
