I thought it looked a bit suss, but I thought about it and it could be real. The only thing that throws me off is the email address I have to reply to. Its @yahoo.com if its optus, shouldnt it be @optusnet.com.au? Also there was no optus logo or anything. I am totally confused!!
Is this email from Optusnet spam or is it for real?
Absolutely!!!!! Never give them your password under any circumstances because the phishers will gain access to your account if you did so. Please keep in mind that Optusnet would never send an email to its customers as it has their information stored in its servers. Just give it the spam "heave-ho" into the rubbish bin and move along as if nothing has ever happened.
Reply:It's simple and if you can remeber.Did you ever try to register yourself with their website? If not then just simply delete it and pay no attension.
Reply:DONT send.-- It is 99. 9999999% bogus con to fraudulently obtain your password %26amp; gain acsess to your computer %26amp;or bank records.
You should forward the email to OPTUS but DONT include your password.
Iye just tryed websearch for the other address %26amp; they come up as optus but the adreess they want you to send password does not.
Looks like an OPTUS employee is trying a con to get 1 to 3% of gullable people to send password ,giving cons acsess to your computure %26amp;or bank account.
REPORT this email to OPTUS especialy as the address is offshore where Australian laws dont apply. --All Aussie adressess end in ".com.au "
