over spring break i opened an email and got a virus on my computer. it infected my email so im scared that when i open my email it will send that virus to my newly cleaned virus free computer so i abandoned my old email and had to make myself a new one. i was wondering if i went onto meebo.com to get onto Yahoo IM (with my old virus infected email) if it would get the virus from my email and give it back to my computer and make me have to spend hours trying to clean it again??
thanks
Email q?????
Meebo is a chat site etc that you can access from Yahoo.
If you have got a virus on your computer, changing you email address won't make any difference.
Getting a virus on your computer from an email you must have opened an email with an attachement!
General and safe way with emails never open an attachment from someone you don't know. If your not sure then reply to who sent it and ask them. If it gets returned you can be sure it's a virus email. Delete it and certainly don't open it.
There are some going around with subjects like "Do you remember this" or "Have you seen these photos?" Delete them straight away WITHOUT opening them!
Also get a reasonable Virus Protection that has the capability of scanning your email as it is downloaded from your server!
Do that and you will live long and prosper. Don't do that and you will have a lot of headaches!
Reply:No it will not. Meebo is an online application. It will not get into your email.
Reply:Scan Your Pc For Free To Check For Windows Registry Errors.
